Beginner Throwing: The W(right) Way
This course provides a good introduction to creating functional pottery forms for students with no prior experience and also for those who have worked with clay before, but would benefit from a review. Fundamental techniques such as wedging, centering, the development of cylinders, cup/mug forms, bowls, trimming, handles and lids, along with glazing and slip decoration will be presented.

In this hands-on workshop, David will share with you the variety of handbuilding and wheelthrowing techniques he uses in the creation of his inventive, functional pottery. You'll be stretching, cutting and folding the clay; as well as reassembling it and using press molds. David will focus on the ideas, philosophy and influences that affect his work. He'll discuss how artists develop their own personal vision, and you'll be encouraged to express your ideas and viewpoint regarding your creative process
