In 1990, “Bird in Space” by Constantin Brancusi was the inspiration for my placing the Creamer on top of the Sugar bowl and creating a functional pot that is both useful and sculptural. Brancusi’s work is a constant source of inspiration and information for me. For many years I  have avoided doing anything representational, but I have recently used this idea again to suggest a bird perched on a rock in water.
